Signs Of The Times Foretold, Fulfilled

Judas provides an example of a tempting, but misguided approach. The most compelling iteration of Judas that I’ve encountered, which tied together some threads I hadn’t been able to make sense of, is in the 2018 film Mary Magdalene. The film frames Judas’ choice to betray Christ as coming from a place of devotion and commitment to a narrow iteration of the Kingdom of God. Judas felt that Jesus was not fulfilling his role as the promised Messiah, and so wanted to push him to call down the powers of Heaven and bring about the Kingdom of God on Earth. For Judas, the betrayal was his part in establishing the Kingdom of God. Judas viewed his betrayal, not as turning his back on everything he had lived and taught as an apostle, but as the culmination of it.
And we were told in 1844 that He was coming and we were told that in 1914 that He was coming. And were told in September of 1988 that He was coming and I have heard some thing on the radio recently that assure me that He is coming at the end of this year. Spurgeon who was writing in a time when somebody had just predicted that the Son of man was coming in 1866, it was the year, 1855, and C.H. Spurgeon said because they have predicted that He is coming in 1866, I don’t believe He will. That which the incarnate Son says that He does not know. Listen to what the great Baptist theologian, John Broaddus says.

I don’t think we can definitively say, “this was definitely from God” or “this was definitely not from God.” The warning of difficult times ahead itself could be prophetic – I’m open to that possibility. We know that we are already in the End Times and that nation will rise up against nation and there will be wars and rumors of war . Understanding this unlocks an understanding of much of the Trump administration’s agenda, which seems tailor-made to appeal to this theological mindset. Inside this worldview, environmentalism is a lack of faith in God’s power over his own creation, so gutting the EPA, pulling out of the Paris climate accord, and scoffing at climate science makes perfect sense. Conservative judges aren’t just saving the unborn, they’re also bulwarks against all manner of Satan-sanctioned liberalism, protecting the faithful from persecution and reversing LGBTQ protections.
Years after I left the faith, I wanted to understand the power it held over us all. In 2015, spurred by the lengthy prophecy of a 27-year-old wunderkind named Jeremiah Johnson, many Pentecostals and charismatics embraced the idea that God had chosen Trump to restore America’s Christian moorings. Trump’s surprise win in 2016 offered a dramatic validation, and in 2020 dozens of prophets declared that he would win election again.

I’m not suggesting that we stop using the Internet entirely; that’s not a realistic possibility for many of us. But we must be aware of how Internet use is changing our thinking. We must control our use of the Internet and not allow it to control us. And we must discipline ourselves to continue a deep and regular study of the Word of God. The Gospel Coalition supports the church by providing resources that are trusted and timely, winsome and wise, and centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Jews of that day missed Jesus because they weren’t expecting Him. We don’t want to be caught unprepared for His second coming. But eschatology - or the study of the end times - is one of my favorite topics in the Bible, and one of the subjects I most enjoy studying and talking about. I'd love to encourage you to learn more about it too! That's why I'm pushing through my insecurities to post this blog. Whatever the reality of that time, "persevering" or "courageously enduring" without compromising will certainly be no small accomplishment.
And never has it been more mainstream in American politics than under the Trump administration. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed.

“And the prophets become wind, for the word is not in them.” In modern jargon, they are saying that God’s servants are a bunch of “windbags” to whom they should not pay attention, “for the word is not in them” (v. 13). There is a historical parallel to this end-time overthrow of Jerusalem and the erection of an idolatrous object on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. In the time of Antiochus Epiphanes, some 160 years before the First Coming of Christ, the pagan Seleucid Greeks sacrificed pigs as offerings upon the altar of God. We are living during a time that is like the calm before a menacing, destructive storm. If you had been a Jew in Germany in 1935, would you have been alert to your people’s future destiny?
According to some, all of the twelve tribes of Israel from every place on earth will be gathered back to Canaan land, the city of Jerusalem and the temple will be rebuilt and its worship will be restored. All of this, they contend will begin to take place at the coming of the Lord just prior to His thousand year reign on earth in the end times. Just as the dragon, the beast, the false prophet and the frogs are symbolic, so is Armageddon.

The book of Revelation is addressed to believers, “his servants,” of the churches in seven cities of the Roman province of Asia. Those churches were in Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadephia, and Laodicea. The book is also written to all believers everywhere. Thus, the preterist claim is that Revelation was written in the 60s, prior to the destruction of Jerusalem. During difficult times, the hope of eternity gives us strength. If you’re prone to worry yourself to sleep each night, turn your thoughts upward and close your eyes thinking of heaven and its eternal throne. Daniel perfectly foretold the exact date of the Messiah’s first coming in Daniel 9 with the seventy weeks! The Bible also gives us prophecy of future events so that we can be prepared .

This information has been suppressed for many centuries, but it is information that you need to... We see the scene every year… decorated trees, evergreen End Times Christian Prophetic Warning wreaths and bright multi-colored lights. Sometimes there is a little crèche in the corner, depicting an infant child receiving lavish gifts.
